Mason Owen appointed by General Projects as L&T advisors at Royal Albert Dock

We are thrilled to share that Mason Owen is appointed by current custodians General Projects to assist with lease renewals and rent reviews on the retail and food & beverage units nestled within this iconic site.

We very much look forward to working with General Projects and supporting them with their asset management goals of preserving, enhancing and injecting new creativity into what is one of the city’s most iconic destinations.

In the 19th century, Liverpool’s docks were at the forefront of global trade, and Royal Albert Dock was right at the heart of this bustling maritime activity. When opened in 1846, Royal Albert Dock revolutionised dock operations, featuring hydraulic cranes that efficiently moved heavy cargoes across its flagstone floors. Ships could now unload and turn around in half the time.

In 1981, the entire Royal Albert Dock complex was abandoned, prompting the establishment of the Merseyside Development Corporation (MDC).

Their key mission… To devise an ambitious vision to regenerate the abandoned complex.

Two centuries on, the 375,000 sq ft estate stands as one of the largest and most prominent cultural and commercial destinations in the UK, receiving over six million visitors a year and contributing significantly to Liverpool’s local economy. Royal Albert Dock now comprises a mix of attractive commercial, leisure, and residential spaces which retain the Dock’s maritime heritage and architectural features.
